Job Overview
We are looking for a part-time self employed book-keeper in the Harrogate/Wetherby area to manage the financial records for a small building contractor.
Duties
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records using SAGE 50 accounting software. A company laptop is available for this.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is up-to-date
- Process monthly payroll using HMRC Basic PAYE Tools
- Prepare financial reports and summaries as required.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Prepare and submit monthly CIS returns
- Process year-end closing procedures and submit to Accountant
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and organisational policies.

- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
- Proficiency in SAGE 50 accounting software programme
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- A recognised qualification in accounting or finance is desirable but not essential
