The LGV Cat CE Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using articulated lorries. The role requires adherence to all relevant legal and safety regulations, timely delivery of consignments, and maintaining the vehicle in a roadworthy condition. The driver operates primarily within the North West England region, with potential for occasional longer journeys. This position is temporary and requires full-time availability.
- Drive articulated vehicles to deliver goods safely and promptly to designated locations.

Ensure compliance with all relevant transport laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.

Conduct routine vehicle checks before and after journeys to confirm roadworthiness and report any defects promptly.

Load and unload goods securely and efficiently, using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment where necessary.

Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes, vehicle logs, and any incidents encountered during transit.

Communicate effectively with the logistics team to provide updates on delivery status and any issues affecting schedules.

Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and professionalism at all times.

Adhere to company policies on health and safety, environmental protection, and customer service.

Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines while ensuring safety is not compromised.
- Valid LGV Category CE licence with no current endorsements that would affect driving capability.

Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Driver Qualification.

Valid Driver CPC card with up-to-date periodic training.
- Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications preferred but not essential.
- Proven experience driving LGV Cat CE vehicles in a similar logistics or distribution environment.

Experience in operating articulated lorries safely under various road and weather conditions.

Familiarity with routes and regulations within the North West England area is advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of road safety regulations and best practises for LGV operation.

Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and identify potential mechanical issues.

Good organisational skills and ability to plan routes effectively.

Strong communication skills to liaise with despatch and customers as required.

Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Physical capability to handle loading and unloading tasks safely.
- Additional training or certifications in manual handling or health and safety.

Experience with transport management systems or handheld devices for delivery tracking.

Knowledge of basic first aid.
- Full-time hours, typically including early starts and occasional late finishes depending on delivery schedules.

Work takes place primarily on the road and at distribution centres.

Exposure to varying weather conditions and physical activity including lifting and securing loads.
