Hours: 8:00am – 12:00pm, Monday - Thursday

Live It & Get Active CIC is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team during the summer holidays, supporting our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.
The successful candidate will be based in a school kitchen and assist with the preparation and packing of meals for children attending holiday clubs across Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a kitchen environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of food hygiene and organisation.
You will work as part of a small kitchen team preparing approximately 300 meals per day, helping to ensure meals are prepared, packed and distributed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation and meal packing.
Prepare ingredients and support the cook with daily kitchen tasks.
Ensure meals are labelled correctly and dietary requirements are followed.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
Wash utensils, equipment and kitchen workspaces.
Assist with stock organisation and deliveries.
Support the kitchen team to ensure meals are ready for distribution on time.
Follow all health and safety, food hygiene and safeguarding procedures.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or food preparation environment is desirable but not essential.
Good understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling food labels and dietary requirements.
Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable but not essential.
