Logistics Coordinator
Location: Maldon
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and growing organisation within the manufacturing and supply chain sector, is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Maldon.
This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional with experience in transport, exports, and supply chain coordination to play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods across the UK and international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments in collaboration with internal planning and customer service teams.
- Arrange UK and international deliveries across road, sea, and air freight networks.
- Manage export shipments, including groupage consignments and international transport requirements.
- Create and maintain loading plans to maximise vehicle and container utilisation.
- Oversee daily warehouse loading schedules and communicate changes effectively.
- Generate inventory picking instructions to support warehouse operations.
- Obtain and evaluate freight quotations to ensure cost-effective transport solutions.
- Maintain transport and shipping cost records and reporting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on logistics efficiency and cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with export procedures, shipping regulations, and Incoterms.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers regarding export and transport-related enquiries.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to maintain service standards.
- Monitor supplier and carrier performance and support corrective actions where required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within a logistics, transport, or supply chain environment.
- Knowledge of UK and international freight operations, including road, sea, and air transport.
- Experience handling export documentation and international shipping procedures.
- A good understanding of Incoterms.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- A commercial mindset with an understanding of cost control and supplier management.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Logistics or Supply Chain qualification (IoSCM, CIPS, or equivalent).
- Certificate in Export Documentation or similar export-related qualification.
