Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to support various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The successful candidate will assist in the upkeep and development of outdoor spaces, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. This role offers hands-on experience in horticulture, gardening, and construction activities, contributing to the enhancement of our clients' environments.
Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance, including planting, pruning, and grass cutting
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and machinery such as excavators and irrigation systems under supervision
- Support construction activities by preparing sites, digging trenches, and laying foundations
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with gardening tasks such as planting, watering, mulching, and fertilising
- Help in the installation and repair of irrigation systems
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards
Requirements
- Prior experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to operating power tools and machinery such as excavators is desirable
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction and gardening tasks
- Basic understanding of maintenance procedures for outdoor equipment
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour including digging, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- A valid <PERSON> or relevant certification is preferred but not essential
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills related to construction, gardening, and horticulture
