Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence. This position requires a nurturing attitude and the ability to manage various care needs, including those related to dementia and other health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition.
- Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship.
- Implement behaviour management techniques as needed to ensure a safe environment.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Foster a supportive relationship with clients and their families, ensuring open communication.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a caregiving role or nursing home setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid principles and practices is advantageous.
- Experience in dementia care or working with individuals with cognitive impairments is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients of varying backgrounds.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate client needs.
