The Role
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Design Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (experience teaching Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering is highly desirable).
- Foster a safe, structured, and inspiring workshop environment where students can confidently explore design concepts and material manipulation.
- Plan and execute schemes of work that seamlessly integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
- Monitor student progress through effective tracking and formative assessment, preparing Key Stage 4 cohorts thoroughly for their GCSE or vocational examinations.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Design Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience teaching the UK National Curriculum for DT within a secondary school setting.
- A comprehensive understanding of workshop health and safety protocols (Data certificates are welcomed but not essential).
- The ability to motivate and build strong relationships with students of all backgrounds and technical abilities.
