Your Role as Second Chef at Lindley Park
In this influential and rewarding role, you will help shape the highest standard of care by:
· Lead the team in the absence of the Head of the Department and carry our all associated tasked to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen
· Supervise and instruct Kitchen Staff Members in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures, giving help and guidance where appropriate.
· Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals as and when required,
· Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary, and consider the preferences of individual clients
· Maintain accurate records of food supplies and freezer / fridge temperatures,
· Undertake menu planning in consultation with residents and the Registered Manager in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet,
· Work closely with managers to budget food requirements and order stock in a timely manner,
· Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area (and where appropriate, the dining areas) is carried out effectively,
· Work safely to protect yourself and others and in accordance with the 1974 Health & Safety at Work Act – COSHH.

Position available:
Second Chef 8am-6pm
Lindley Park work a 3 on 3 off rota, so some weekend working will be required.
You will bring:
· City and Guilds 706 - 1 & 2 or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)
· Hold or working towards Intermediate Food Hygiene Level
· Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
· Supervisory experience
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· A genuine passion for supporting older adults
· A professional, positive and proactive approach to the role
