Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals at destinations.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections, including checking tyres, brakes, lights, and other essential systems.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere strictly to all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in driving flatbed lorries or similar commercial vehicles.
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety protocols within the UK.
- Previous delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules and route planning efficiently.
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo safely.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally.
