Maintenance Engineer – Donelan Property Maintenance
At Donelan Property Maintenance, we’re building the most trusted maintenance team in the North West. We’re a friendly, professional, and fast-growing company based in South Manchester, delivering high-quality residential maintenance for landlords and homeowners.
We currently have 5 engineers on the team and are aiming to grow to 10 engineers within the next 6 months, with further expansion to 15 engineers over the next 12 months.
If you’re an experienced engineer looking for stability, good systems, and a company that’s going places, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
We’re looking for a skilled, reliable Maintenance Engineer to carry out a wide variety of residential maintenance works across Greater Manchester and occasionally further afield.
You’ll work in a mix of:
- Occupied tenant properties
- Homeowner-occupied homes
- Vacant properties
This is a hands-on, varied role for someone who takes pride in doing things properly.
Key Responsibilities
All-Round Maintenance Work
From plumbing repairs and joinery, to patch plastering, decorating, and small refurb projects — you’ll be the go-to person for quality residential maintenance.
Efficient Problem Solving
You’ll use your experience and practical thinking to diagnose issues quickly and deliver smart, long-lasting solutions.
Working as Part of a Proper Team
We’re organised, supportive, and collaborative — no one is left to struggle alone.
We also hold a monthly Toolbox Talk meeting where we provide breakfast and bring the whole team together. It’s a great chance to meet everyone, discuss challenges and opportunities, and have an open conversation about how we can keep improving the way we work.
Clear Communication
You’ll be confident speaking with clients, updating the office, and keeping everyone informed throughout jobs.
Using Modern Systems
We run jobs through field management software, so you’ll need to be comfortable completing job notes and updates digitally.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential maintenance
- Strong multi-trade ability (plumbing/joinery/basic repairs etc.)
- Relevant trade qualifications are a bonus
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Must have your own vehicle and tools (company vans are something we aim to introduce as we grow)
Salary & Benefits
- £28,000 – £34,000 per year (depending on experience)
- 28 days holiday, including bank holidays
- Pension scheme
- Overtime available
- Ongoing training and development
Career Progression
As we expand, opportunities will open up for progression into Senior Engineer and Team Leader roles. We always prefer to promote from within as the team grows.
