Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Person to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a lively environment. Previous restaurant or bar experience is essential, along with a strong understanding of food safety and responsible alcohol service. Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, in accordance with company standards
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age and promote responsible alcohol consumption
- Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed, and assist with inventory control
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
- Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety at all times, adhering to health and safety policies
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Bar Person within a hospitality or restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service practices
- Excellent serving skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Experience in time management to ensure prompt service during peak hours
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and customer service excellence is highly desirable
