Lancashire Board & Paper Co. Ltd is a leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging in the Northwest and after a period of rapid growth we are seeking a Trainee Machine Operator to join our growing team.
This is a very hands-on role which involves on-the-job training and mentorship. You will learn from experienced team members and follow an induction program.
Job Details:
· Position: Trainee Machine Operator
· Type: Full time, Permanent
· Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm / Friday 8am – 2pm (40 hours)
· Location: Burnley, near the hospital
· Pay: £12.71 p/h with a view to increasing once trained.
You will be taught:
- How to set up and operate machinery, including loading and taking off sheet board
- Monitor output quality to ensure high standards are always maintained.
- Trouble shoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Responsibility for final count and dispatch of goods.
- To assist in other departments as/when necessary.
- To ensure that the appropriate Health and Safety regulations are meticulously observed and practiced at all times.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have previous history within the manufacturing industry
- Be comfortable lifting & carrying sheet board which can sometimes be cumbersome
- Be self-driven and work well as part of a team, whilst working on own initiative where needed.
- Have excellent time keeping and attendance.
- Have a keen eye for detail.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Enjoy working in a busy environment.
- Maintain a ‘can-do’ attitude and take pride in their work
- Want to settle into working with us long term.
