Wayman Education is seeking a brilliant, analytical, and engaging Economics Teacher to join a highly successful social sciences faculty at an 'Outstanding' Ofsted-rated secondary school and sixth form in Hammersmith. This full-time, permanent position is scheduled to start in September 2026 and is open to both experienced practitioners looking for a fresh challenge and ambitious Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, academically rigorous Economics lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (including GCSE and A-Level specifications).
- Deconstruct complex macro and microeconomic models, global trade concepts, and financial market principles to make them accessible and engaging for all learners.
- Track, assess, and record pupil attainment data, using formative and summative metrics to provide high-quality feedback and execute targeted exam-preparation workshops.
- Employ adaptive teaching frameworks and scaffolded learning plans to challenge high-attaining pupils while providing total accessibility for SEND and EAL cohorts.
- Collaborate actively within the departmental team to share best practices, design innovative teaching resources, and contribute to extra-curricular enterprise or finance initiatives.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in Economics, Finance, Business Studies, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: A proven track record of teaching economics within a UK secondary school or sixth form setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
- Skills: Strong current subject knowledge up to A-Level, confident classroom management strategies, and the ability to link economic theory seamlessly to real-world global events.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
