Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food Delivery Driver / Takeaway Assistant to join our team. This role involves delivering orders promptly to customers and assisting with takeaway operations. The ideal candidate does not necessarily need experience in delivery driving, but do require communication skills, and be committed to providing outstanding customer service. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring customers receive their orders efficiently and courteously.
Applicant must have own vehicle suitably maintained for delivery driving and correct insurance.
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver food orders to customers within designated areas, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
- Assist with takeaway operations, including preparing orders for dispatch and managing customer pickups
- Handle cash and electronic payments accurately when required
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of delivery vehicles and takeaway areas, involves some light duties , making packaging , stock refills, light washing up etc
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of food items and safe driving practices
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, including heavy lifting when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within the hospitality or logistics sector
- Valid driver’s licence, preferably with experience in commercial driving or operating larger vehicles such as vans or lorries
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
- Experience working in warehouses or handling heavy lifting is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Organised with the ability to manage time effectively under pressure
- Knowledge of local routes and navigation tools is beneficial

Pay: £12.71-£12.72 per hour
