We are seeking a composed, proactive, and service-driven Duty Manager to lead operational security delivery in Glasgow.
The Role
As Duty Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day aviation security operation, ensuring the highest standards of screening, compliance, and customer service are consistently delivered.
In addition to being part of the security team you will also be managing on-site security operations, you will also be responsible for supervising and coordinating security activities linked to flight departures and arrivals, ensuring all processes are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in line with operational schedules.
You will lead by example in a fast-paced, high-end environment where every flight is unique, and every decision impacts the passenger experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supervising Aviation Security Officers during daily operations
- Coordinating security requirements linked to departing and arriving flights
- Ensuring all aviation security screening is conducted in line with regulatory standards
- Overseeing passenger, crew, and VIP client processing to ensure a smooth, discreet service
- Maintaining operational integrity, security vigilance, and compliance at all times
- Managing shift coordination, staffing levels, and daily briefings
- Responding confidently to operational incidents and escalating where appropriate
- Supporting training, mentoring, and performance development of team members
- Ensuring a consistently high standard of customer service in a premium environment
The Ideal Candidate

- Comfortable working within a 24/7 operation, including weekends and unsociable hours
- Able to coordinate multiple operational priorities in a time-sensitive aviation environment
Full training will be provided for the right individual with strong leadership potential.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5-year employment history (with references for any gaps)
- Previous experience within aviation or private security environments
- At least 2 years’ experience in a customer-facing role
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required
- Eligible to pass criminal record and counter-terrorism vetting
- Must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent colour vision (required for screening duties)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Aviation Security Supervisor or Ground Security Operative qualification
- Current CTC clearance or higher
- Experience in duty management or shift leadership roles
- Experience coordinating flight-related operational activity within an airport or FBO environment

Shift Pattern
- 4 on / 2 off
- 8-hour shifts
Recruitment Process
- Stage 1: Competency-based interview focusing on leadership and customer service excellence
- Stage 2: Face-to-face / TEAMs interview including operational scenario assessment, incident management exercise, and screening checks
