We are currently seeking a Full Time Support Worker. The ideal candidate is expected to commence as soon as possible, and ideally have prior experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
We are looking for a compassionate and empathetic individual who possesses a genuine passion for empowering others to reach their full potential. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in promoting the overall well-being of our clients through various essential areas, including:
· Mental and Physical Health and Well-being: Actively encouraging clients to adopt a healthy lifestyle by supporting their mental and emotional needs, helping them to manage stress effectively and engage in physical activities that contribute to their overall wellness.
· Self-help Skills and Daily Living Tasks: Providing hands-on assistance to clients as they develop vital life skills necessary for independence in daily living. This may involve helping with personal hygiene routines, meal preparation, and household management.
· Access to the Community: Actively facilitating and encouraging clients’ participation in community activities, which not only enhances their social integration but also works to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
· Forming Positive Relationships: Aiding clients in building and maintaining meaningful, positive relationships with peers and professionals, fostering a sense of belonging and support.

To be considered for this rewarding role, you should have relevant experience in the health and social care sector, whether through paid employment or volunteer positions. Familiarity with supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, including autism and learning disabilities, is desirable.
Key qualifications and skills required
· Strong Written English and Verbal Communication Skills: The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, their families, and fellow team members, ensuring that everyone is informed and involved in the care process.
· Ability to Contribute to Support Plans: Collaborating with your team to create and implement tailored support strategies that cater to the individual needs of each client, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
· Flexibility in Work Hours: A willingness to adapt to varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, is vital to providing consistent and uninterrupted care and support to clients.
A Social Vocational Qualification (SVQ2) or an equivalent qualification suitable for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), or a commitment to pursue this qualification within a mutually agreed time frame.
