Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Site Health and Safety Manager to oversee and promote a safe working environment across our site. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, identifying potential hazards, and fostering a culture of safety among staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, be proactive in hazard identification, and have experience in report writing and root cause analysis. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential health and safety hazards
- Develop, implement, and review health and safety policies in accordance with legal requirements
- Provide first aid assistance when necessary and maintain appropriate records of incidents
- Lead investigations into accidents or near-misses, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and improvement measures
- Promote health and safety awareness through training sessions and communication campaigns
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and best practices
- Collaborate with management and staff to foster a proactive safety culture
Qualifications
- Proven experience in health and safety management or related field
- First aid certification is essential
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, comprehensive documentation
- Experience in root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a part-time capacity
- Knowledge of current health and safety legislation applicable within the UK workplace
