SEND Teacher – Autism Base (Secondary Setting)

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary SEND School in Oldham for a passionate and resilient SEND Teacher to work within their dedicated Autism Base (AB) supporting pupils with complex autism and additional needs.
This is a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people whose learning journeys require patience, creativity and specialist support.
The Role
You will be teaching a small class of pupils working at Early Years / lower primary curriculum levels, despite being within a secondary setting. The focus is on developing communication, engagement, sensory regulation and foundational learning skills.
Class sizes are very small, allowing for a highly personalised approach and strong relationships with pupils.
Important to Know
This is a highly rewarding but challenging role. The successful candidate will need to be calm, adaptable and confident supporting pupils with complex autism and significant learning needs. Consistency, resilience and a nurturing approach are essential.
