We’re delighted to be recruiting for a Deputy Head Housekeeper to join the team at a stunning luxury boutique hotel in the heart of the Lake District.
This beautiful property is known for its warm hospitality, exceptional standards, and breathtaking surroundings. Working closely with the Head Housekeeper, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming and immaculate environment where guests can truly relax and enjoy their stay.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced housekeeping professional who enjoys leading from the front, inspiring a team, and taking pride in delivering outstanding guest experiences.
The Role
As Deputy Head Housekeeper, you will support the day-to-day leadership of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards are consistently maintained throughout the hotel.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and motivating the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional cleanliness and presentation across guest bedrooms and public areas
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the department in a hands-on leadership role
- Monitoring linen levels and coordinating with suppliers to maintain appropriate stock and par levels
- Working closely with the Front Office team to ensure seamless guest arrivals and departures
- Promoting and maintaining excellent health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Liaising with the Maintenance team to report and follow up on any maintenance issues
- Assisting with recruitment, training, coaching, and ongoing development of the housekeeping team
- Deputising for the Head Housekeeper when required
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality and takes genuine pride in creating exceptional guest experiences.
You will ideally have:
- Previous supervisory or management experience within housekeeping in a minimum 4-star hotel environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work closely with all hotel departments
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards
- Experience leading, motivating, and developing a team
- A proactive, positive, and hands-on approach
