Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. This role requires a qualified driver with experience in commercial driving, and a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.
Duties
- Operate a Class 1 heavy goods vehicle (HGV) safely and in accordance with all legal requirements and company policies
- Deliver goods to specified locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Secure loads appropriately to prevent movement during transit
- Conduct vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain safety standards
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Assist with loading and unloading as required, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle throughout shifts
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver.
- Knowledge of current driving regulations and safety standards within the UK
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively during routes
- Ability to perform physical tasks.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including early mornings or late evenings if required
- A professional attitude with excellent communication skills
