PE Teacher / Sports Coach (Primary Schools)
Ignite Sports Coaching has been delivering fun and engaging sports sessions across York and North Yorkshire for over 8 years. We are passionate about inspiring children through sport and supporting schools with high-quality physical education.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coach to join our growing team.
This role would suit:
- A Primary School Teacher or experienced HLTA with a passion for sport and coaching
- A Secondary School PE specialist interested in working within a Primary setting
During term time, the successful candidate will deliver:
- PE PPA cover lessons
- CPD support for school staff
- Extracurricular sports clubs
You will work closely with class teachers and pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, delivering high-quality PE sessions in a primary school environment.
During the school holidays there is opportunity to contribute to our expanding holiday club programme, helping to build strong relationships with schools and communities.

Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with primary school children
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training
- Strong enthusiasm and passion for working with children in sport
- Reliable transport
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
