Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing materials handling, process optimisation, and team coordination to ensure efficient logistics and inventory management. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.
- Oversee materials handling processes ensuring safe and efficient movement of stock using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
- Implement process improvements to optimise warehouse operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Manage inventory levels through accurate utilisation of the warehouse management system.
- Lead, train, and manage warehouse staff to foster a high-performance team environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including heavy lifting procedures and mechanical safety protocols.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to facilitate smooth transportation and delivery schedules.
- Oversee shipping & receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatches and deliveries aligned with customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements and inventory data for reporting purposes.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance or coordinate repairs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics roles with a strong understanding of warehouse operations.
- Demonstrable skills in materials handling, process optimisation, and team management.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, and other relevant software tools such as forklift operation systems.
- Valid forklift licence with experience operating heavy machinery safely.
- Mechanical knowledge to support equipment troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to lead teams effectively and liaise with external partners such as 3PL providers.
