Rutledge Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Civils Estimator for a leading manufacturing and construction company based in the Ballymena area.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Estimating Team to maximize sales opportunities and convert quotations into orders while supporting the successful delivery of projects from tender stage through to award. This role would suit an experienced estimator with a background in civil engineering, construction, or a related industry.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Flexible working hours available between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM through a flexi-time system.
Pay Rate:
- Salary from £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate quotations and estimates for civil engineering projects
- Complete and submit tender documentation within required deadlines
- Review customer enquiries, Bills of Quantities, drawings and technical specifications
- Price projects accurately from drawings and bar schedules
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors
- Negotiate and communicate professionally with customers and stakeholders
- Organise and attend client meetings as required
- Provide regular updates on current projects, tender submissions and order status
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure projects are delivered within customer requirements, budget and programme
- Assist with resolving technical queries and providing practical solutions
- Support the achievement of departmental KPIs and business objectives
- Carry out additional duties as required by management
Requirements / Desirable Skills:
- Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction-related degree, or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience in an estimating role within the civil engineering or construction sector
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical information
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Strong project and programme management experience
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Evidence of achieving or exceeding business targets and objectives
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
- Flexible approach to work, including attendance at trade shows and client visits when required
Desirable:
- Experience within a busy engineering, manufacturing or construction environment
- Experience managing projects from tender stage through to delivery
- Knowledge of precast concrete products or civil infrastructure projects
- Experience using CRM systems
- Continuous professional development within a relevant discipline
- Full UK driving licence
