Razzamataz Burton on Trent is a brand new theatre school launching in September 2026! Our mission is to inspire the next generation to be confident, embrace what makes them unique and shine through fun, high quality performing arts training. We teach children aged 4-18 years dance, singing and drama covering both Musical Theatre and Commercial styles. Job Description
To deliver high-quality, engaging drama lessons to children aged 6–18, supporting the development of confidence, acting technique, and performance skills in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured, engaging, and age-appropriate drama sessions, covering acting, improvisation, script work, and performance skills
- Teach core acting techniques, including characterisation, voice, movement, expression, and performance skills
- Encourage confidence, creativity, and active participation in all students
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to produce high-quality performances
- Prepare students for shows, events, and performances
- Monitor progress and complete annual report cards for students
- Adapt teaching methods to suit a range of ages, abilities, and learning styles
- To uphold and promote high standards of behaviour among children, ensuring a safe, positive and respectful environment
- Assist with rehearsals and performances, including the summer show and other events
- Participate in termly staff development meetings
- Maintain communication with the principals and provide regular feedback

In line with operational needs, you may be required to:
- Work flexible or varied hours as required by the needs of the school
- Travel to attend meetings, events, and performances

Person Specification
Essential
- Strong acting ability and solid performance technique
- Experience of, and genuine passion for, working with children and young people
- Strong ability to create and develop performances with young performers
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and engaging teaching style
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team with a collaborative and supportive approach
- Ability to motivate, inspire, and build confidence in young performers
- Commitment to the ethos and values of Razzamataz Theatre School
Desirable
- Formal training in drama or performing arts
- Teaching qualification or relevant experience
- Professional performing credits
