Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with young children. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment to support children's development and learning. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Supervise children during play, meals, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
- Organise and oversee daily routines in accordance with nursery policies and early childhood education standards
- Support new staff members through mentoring and leadership roles as required
- Ensure the nursery environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for children and staff
- Assist with organising educational outings and activities outside the nursery setting when necessary
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is essential
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide junior staff members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when required
- Ability to work as part of a team with organisation skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
