Job Title: Junior Maintenance Operative
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (including Bank Holidays as required)
Location: Based at Ground Up HQ, with travel to properties and client sites as required
Salary: £22,750 - £26,500 per annum (depending on experience)
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days (including Bank Holidays)

Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Junior Maintenance Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with practical maintenance experience who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and growing company.
Working under the guidance of senior team members, you will assist in carrying out reactive and planned maintenance across residential and commercial properties. This role offers excellent opportunity for development and progression within the company.
The aim of the role is to support the maintenance team in ensuring properties remain safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard that reflects the company’s brand and service expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with reactive and planned maintenance works across multiple properties.
- Carry out basic plaster patch repairs, painting and decorating.
- Support general repairs including basic carpentry, plumbing, tiling and minor building works.
- Assist in diagnosing faults and completing remedial works.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with company standards.
- Maintain clear and accurate job records where required.
- Ensure properties are left clean, tidy and safe after works are completed.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with the office and senior operatives regarding job progress or issues.
- Represent the company professionally when attending client sites.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Some experience in property maintenance or a practical trade role.
- Basic skills in painting, decorating, and general repairs.
- Willingness to learn and develop trade skills.
- Good work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety on site.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 (or working towards) in a relevant trade.
- CSCS Card.
- Experience working within residential properties.
