A vacancy has arisen for the role of HR Operations Manager.
Responsible for the day-to-day management and development of the team to provide a proactive and responsive HR service to the client. Work closely with the Tower Director to ensure an effective people service for MBS.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leading the Operational team to ensure that activities are fully aligned to support the delivery of HR operational HR requirements.

Contributing to the development and achievement of the MBS service strategy through effective human resources planning and practice and liaison with the leadership team.

Developing, monitoring and managing excellent HR processes, policies and systems to ensure legislative compliance, best practice application and organisational cohesion and consistency in order to provide a professional advisory and accurate administrative service on all people related matters.

Supporting and assisting with initiatives and projects as identified e.g. supporting new bids etc.

Actively supporting, producing and contributing to the processes and management reporting mechanisms designed to promote excellent performance both within HR and for the client organisation.

Coaching and developing team (or, where appropriate people managers) to ensure that the HR service provided is professional and accurate at all times.

On behalf of the client, providing advice, coaching and overseeing complex employee relations issues such as grievance and disciplinary matters and managing difficult cases with professionalism, in the interest of the individual, client and wider team.

Ensuring that effective channels of communication are established within the HR Operations team and that all employees are effectively managed thereby creating a team that is capable, driven, passionate and committed.

Ensure that the implementation of the client’s employment policy supports business requirements and comply with legal obligations, ensuring the team are trained and advised correctly.

Ensure managers benefit from proactive advice, training and coaching on all aspects of people management; attendance, engagement, performance management, capability and conduct issues, redundancy, settlement agreements.

Work closely with stakeholders to support reward and recognition, advising on job evaluation and maintaining the scheme. Provide benchmarking, job evaluation and advice to managers for business cases on salary raise requests, vacancies and offers.

Ensure benefits and pensions schemes are managed effectively, and the offering is regularly reviewed in line with the client strategy and changes in the market.

Set people priorities for the team, monitoring their goals, performance and streamlining their work.

Deliver on initiatives to develop performance driven culture across the group team reinforced by recognition and reward.

Ensure the team review and implement effective and efficient HR processes and workflows in the Oracle Fusion HR system.

Lead the engagement cycle via surveys and analyse engagement metrics against targets. Conduct listening sessions to gain insightful employee feedback to propose and implement actions.

Supporting the evolution of people analytics – transferring key data into an effective resource to influence teams on the best course of action, providing information by interpreting people data and analysing figures.

Lead on the HR elements of future acquisitions to evaluate, propose and implement integration projects.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

CIPD qualified (MCIPD/FCIPD) and/or other relevant degree

Experience of working as part of a senior leadership team

Experience of developing business/ organisational plans

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Sound problem solving and decision-making skills

Strong planning and organising skills

Able to work both as part of a team and autonomously

Able to interpret/understand business strategy and forthcoming legislation in order to anticipate and plan for potential impact

Experience in a multi-site, client/ customer focused business (preferably with some union experience)

Experience of TUPE transfers

Demonstrable senior level HR experience in a group environment

Experience leading HR activities in an environment of transformation, change and acquisition.

Effective people and project management skills, with a proven ability to deliver through others.

SECURITY & VETTING CHECKS:
All successful candidates must meet the government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).

External candidates: The BPSS includes a basic criminal record check (for unspent convictions). There will also be an Adverse Financial Check (AFC) which will be renewed annually. An Adverse Finance Check looks for CCJs, IVAs, bankruptcies, Scottish decrees, or Administration Orders.

Internal candidates: An annual adverse finance check will be required.
