Join Our Team as an HGV Driver –
We’re a family-run firm based in Suffolk, proudly FORS Gold and CLOCS compliant. Our client is a leading supplier of specialist construction materials, and we’re looking for a reliable and skilled driver to join our team. The Role: Based in Watford, Northampton, NN6, you’ll be delivering 8 to 12 multi-drop loads per day sometimes can be less. Delivering to construction sites across Northamptonshire, London, the Midlands, and surrounding areas. This is an active job that will keep you on your toes – perfect for someone who enjoys staying fit and tackling challenges with a smile.
What We Need from You:
· Correct HGV licence category
· Driver Qualification Card
· Digital tachograph card
You’ll also need to handle paperwork, stay up-to-date with training and toolbox talks, and maintain a professional attitude while enjoying the journey.
The Truck: A well-maintained flatbed rigid. It’s not brand new, but it’s reliable. Load security is managed with ratchets and straps – if you’re not familiar, don’t worry, we’ll train you.
The Hours: Monday to Friday, typically starting between 6 am and 7 am and finishing around 5 pm – sometimes earlier, sometimes later depending on traffic. We won’t sugar-coat it – there may be longer days, after all it is the world of transport, but we’ll always be upfront with you.
This is a day role, but in the rare event you get delayed due to traffic or unforeseen circumstances, we’ll cover your hotel stay. Weekend work is optional and paid as hourly overtime – your choice entirely.
The Pay: Starting salary is £38,000 plus Bonus, paid weekly. And yes, that’s the starting salary. Once you’re trained and prove yourself, your pay increases based on your performance and attitude. Hard work and a positive attitude don’t go unnoticed here.
