Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Day and Night Care Assistants to provide high-quality support within a care home environment. The role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety around the clock. Successful candidates will be committed to delivering person-centred care and fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all residents. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support residents in engaging with daily activities and social interactions
- Follow individualised care plans to meet each resident’s specific needs
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the care environment at all times
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during your shift
- Facilitate communication between residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals (training provided)
- Support residents with mobility, including driving them to appointments or outings when required
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for successful applicants
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately is advantageous
- Good communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members
- Basic IT skills are beneficial for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs for residents or errands
- Compassionate attitude coupled with excellent communication skills is vital for building trust and rapport with residents and colleagues
Pay: £12.21-£13.77 per hour
