Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 (or above) Early Years Practitioner to support in a pre reception class at a wonderful primary school in Tooting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to fostering the academic and social development of children.
Duties
- Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Support literacy and math education through one-on-one or small group instruction.
- Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Provide care and supervision for children during classroom activities, break, and transitions.
- Assist in the development of curriculum materials that align with educational standards.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to monitor student progress and adapt instructional methods as needed.
- Engage with students in activities that promote early childhood development and social skills.
- Support students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
- Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and behavior.
Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years Educator (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
- Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with early childhood education principles, including toddler care and preschool experience.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering an inclusive environment.
- Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management is advantageous.
- A background in Montessori methods or private school experience is a plus.
