Mechanical Inspector
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
Location: Near Uxbridge
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–12:00pm (37 hours per week)

Syntech Recruitment are supporting a leading engineering manufacturer near Uxbridge that is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience inspecting precision-machined, sheet metal, fabricated or assembled components within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Working as part of a quality-focused production team, you will be responsible for verifying parts, components and assemblies against engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring products meet the highest standards before progressing through the manufacturing process.

The Role
As a Mechanical Inspector, your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting and testing manufactured components and assemblies using a range of inspection equipment
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Verifying dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes and product conformity
- Completing inspection documentation and quality records
- Recording non-conformances and inspection findings
- Using SAP to track work in progress and component status
- Ensuring all inspection equipment remains calibrated and fit for purpose
- Supporting continuous improvement and 5S initiatives within the department
- Working closely with production teams to maintain quality and delivery targets
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Inspector, Quality Inspector or Final Inspector
- Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Good numeracy and geometry skills
- Manufacturing, aerospace, automotive or precision engineering background
- Experience using hand tools and inspection gauges
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Desirable Experience
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- CMM operation experience
- AS9102 FAIR experience
- Experience using advanced measuring and inspection equipment
- SAP experience
