Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Agency Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to individuals to work in care homes or care settings (Gosport, Fareham, Portsmouth, Waterlooville, Havant etc). The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their comfort and well-being. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans
- Support clients with mobility and daily routines, encouraging independence where possible
- Administer medication as directed and maintain accurate records of care provided
- Help with meal preparation and light domestic duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering positive relationships
- Follow care plans meticulously to ensure individual needs are met effectively
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals regarding care requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation of all care activities using IT systems where applicable
- Drive or accompany clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safety at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the sector
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving transportation of clients
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy when supporting vulnerable individuals
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends as required
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others
