Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and delivering exceptional service. Candidates must possess a valid driving licence and have previous experience in commercial driving or delivery roles. Driving a range of vehicles from vans to 18 tonne so Class C licence required. Usually anything from 1 -5 deliveries country wide per day. Salary based on 45 hour week. Overtime paid in excess of these hours. Start and end times flexible depending on delivery schedule.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated destinations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines
- Load and unload items, ensuring they are secured properly during transit
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon receipt
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or issues
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies at all times
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with knowledge of commercial driving procedures
- Familiarity with flatbed vehicles and handling of various types of cargo
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
- Ability to navigate using GPS devices and maps confidently
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating responsibility and punctuality
