Location: Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds
Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm with overtime available at 1.5x
Salary: £39,582.40 per annum (£19.03ph)

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Team Leader with Fabrication experience to help oversee production within a busy manufacturing environment. You will assist in leading and developing a team of welders and assembly operative, work confidently from technical drawings, manage production schedules, and maintain high standards of quality, health and safety. This role suits a proactive, organised leader with strong communication skills, a solutions-focused mindset, and the ability to motivate others while managing changing priorities.

Job Duties:
· Cut and fabricate steel accurately in line with technical drawings and cutting lists
· Promote and positive health and safety culture and support senior staff by developing and maintaining best practice.
· Assemble & fit handrails and other products in line with company orders
· Complete paperwork accurately for compliance purposes
· Using hand and power tools
· Assist in the day-to-day running of the department
· Monitor production and ensure orders are completed on time and communicating with adjustment in schedules need to be made
· Assist in the training and development of staff
· Assist with recruitment
· Recommend, implement and develop innovative ways of working to increase productivity and quality
What we are looking for:
· Previous Fabrication/Welding experience essential for the position
· Minimum City and Guilds level in MIG Welding desirable
· Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment producing high quality products, working with technical drawings and managing production schedules
· Experience of leading a team and overseeing a department in a manufacturing environment
· Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate, coach and inspire others, while maintaining fairness, professionalism, and accountability across the team.
· Excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and be able to prioritise effectively.
· Organised and adaptable, able to manage changing priorities, production pressures, and tight deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
· Good knowledge of MS packages including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
· Able to demonstrate integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic, leading by example and promoting a collaborative, respectful team culture.
