As we continue our growth, we are seeking a Volunteer Business Development Officer to help expand partnerships, diversify funding streams, and build sustainable support for our mission.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business development within the social impact sector while contributing to meaningful, long-term change.
Key Responsibilities
Identifying & Researching Partnerships
- Research businesses, foundations, and organisations aligned with GSI’s mission
- Identify and track opportunities in corporate social responsibility (CSR)
- Build and maintain a pipeline/database of potential partners and sponsors
Developing Outreach & Engagement Strategies
- Create tailored proposals and partnership pitches
- Support outreach campaigns (email, networking, meetings)
- Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and engagement strategies
Monitoring Trends & Opportunities
- Track CSR and business trends to identify new partnership opportunities
- Analyse competitor partnerships and sector activity
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership
Supporting Sustainability & Growth
- Help secure long-term partnerships and recurring funding streams
- Identify in-kind partnership opportunities (e.g. pro bono support, sponsorships)
- Contribute to building a sustainable partnership pipeline
Contributing to Strategic Development
- Work with leadership to support growth-stage objectives
- Provide feedback and insights on partnership opportunities
- Support the transition toward long-term, sustainable funding models
About You
Essential:
- Passion for social impact and innovation
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Interest in or experience with business development, partnerships, or fundraising
Desirable:
- Understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR)
- Project management or organisational skills
- Networking and relationship-building experience
- Interest in the non-profit or social innovation sector
