Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Recovery Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating recovery vehicles, including flatbeds and specialised lorries, assisting with the safe and efficient recovery of vehicles and equipment.
This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, excellent communication skills, and previous experience in heavy recovery or commercial driving. The position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting a variety of recovery and transportation operations.
Hours: 3 on / 3 off shift pattern
Duties
- Operate heavy recovery vehicles, including flatbeds and specialised lorries, to recover and transport damaged or immobilised vehicles
- Conduct pre-operational checks on recovery equipment to ensure safety and functionality
- Load, secure, and unload vehicles and equipment using the correct tools and techniques
- Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and other stakeholders during recovery operations
- Maintain accurate records of recoveries, including vehicle condition and location details
- Follow all company safety procedures and recovery protocols to minimise risk
Requirements
- Previous experience in heavy vehicle recovery
- Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record
- Valid CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tacho Card
- Ability to operate flatbed trucks and specialised recovery vehicles safely and efficiently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Flexible, reliable, and customer-focused attitude
- Able to work weekdays and weekends on a rota basis
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, manoeuvring equipment, and working in all weather conditions
- Good attention to detail when loading, securing, and documenting vehicles

Pay: £17.00-£19.00 per hour
