Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Part Time Dog Walker to join our pet care team. This role involves taking dogs on walks, ensuring their safety and wellbeing, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, good organisational skills, and the ability to handle various breeds and sizes of dogs. This position offers flexible hours while enjoying time outdoors with furry friends.
Duties
- Taking dogs on scheduled walks in neighbourhoods or designated parks, ensuring they are safe and well-behaved during outings
- Monitoring dogs’ behaviour and health during walks, responding appropriately to any signs of distress or discomfort
- Providing basic animal care, including feeding or administering medication if required (training provided)
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, including cleaning up after dogs and ensuring equipment is in good condition
- Managing multiple clients’ schedules efficiently to ensure timely service delivery
Skills
- Previous animal care background is highly desirable
- Physical fitness and the ability to undertake some heavy lifting when handling larger dogs or equipment
- Genuine love for animals with patience, compassion, and attentiveness towards dogs of all breeds
- Organised with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple appointments
- Reliable with a responsible attitude towards pet safety and owner confidentiality
