Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, food safety, and general kitchen duties, contributing to a smooth and efficient operation. Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and basic dishes under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure food safety standards are met
- Help with food safety procedures, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
- Serve food to customers or staff as required, ensuring presentation and hygiene are maintained
- Support catering events by organising supplies and assisting with set-up and breakdown
- Ensure the kitchen remains organised, stocked, and hygienic at all times
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently during all tasks
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or a similar food service environment is desirable
- Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in food preparation, kitchen organisation, or culinary roles is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt to busy service periods and varying tasks
