Salary: £28,767 FTE (£24,822 actual)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a committed and resilient Pastoral Support Worker (PSW) to join our dedicated pastoral team at Huish Episcopi Academy.
This is a rewarding and fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with a designated Head of Year to support students’ attendance, behaviour and wellbeing, helping to remove barriers to learning so that every student can succeed.
As a PSW, you will:
- Support students on a day-to-day basis, particularly those who need additional pastoral support
- Monitor and improve student attendance, including follow-up with families and targeted interventions
- Promote high standards of behaviour and inclusion in line with academy expectations
- Work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding teams and external agencies
- Support vulnerable students and contribute to safeguarding responses
- Deliver and track the impact of pastoral interventions
- Assist with reintegration following absence or suspension
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people in a school or similar setting
- Can build strong, professional relationships with students and families
- Is calm, resilient and confident in managing challenging situations
- Has strong organisational and administrative skills, including working with data
- Is proactive, solution-focused and committed to improving outcomes for students
