Teaching Assistants & Learning Support Assistants – Secondary School

talentED are currently supporting a large and welcoming secondary school in Braintree that is looking to recruit multiple Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants due to increased student support needs across the school.
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and proactive individuals who are passionate about supporting young people in education. The school has opportunities available across a range of subject departments and student support provisions.
These positions would suit:
- Experienced Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants
- Graduates considering a career in teaching, psychology, youth work, or SEN
- Individuals with experience supporting young people in schools, care, coaching, or mentoring settings
- Candidates with strong behaviour management and communication skills
The Role:
- Supporting students within lessons on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEN and SEMH
- Helping students stay engaged, focused, and on task within the classroom
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to support student progress
- Supporting a range of subject areas across KS3 and KS4
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
Areas of Support May Include:
- English
- Maths
- Science
- PE / Sports
- Humanities
- Creative subjects
- SEN intervention and pastoral support
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have a calm, positive, and adaptable approach
- Be confident working with secondary-aged students
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Be passionate about education and supporting young people
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have experience with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)
