We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant General Manager to support the daily operations of our restaurant. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a passionate hospitality professional with strong operational, people management, and customer service skills.
The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the business, maintain exceptional service standards, support kitchen and front-of-house operations, and lead the team in delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and hospitality standards are consistently maintained.
- Assist with food preparation and service, ensuring all dishes meet company quality standards.
- Supervise and support front-of-house and kitchen teams to maximise performance and productivity.
- Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and daily operational requirements.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to maintain high performance standards.
- Assist in menu development and implementation of seasonal promotions and special events.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food preparation, and customer service.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and health & safety requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with stock control, ordering, and cost management is desirable.
- Barista experience or hotel industry experience would be advantageous.
- A proactive, positive attitude with a genuine passion for hospitality.
