Role: Field Service Engineer (CNC/ Laser/ Plasma)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Basic Salary DOE + Overtime + Bonus/Commission + Company Vehicle
Type: Full-Time, Permanent or Contract
Location: Midlands Based (Covering South UK, Ireland, Scotland and Occasional European Travel)
Overview:
Our agency is representing a well-established and growing engineering business that specialises in advanced industrial cutting and automation equipment.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join the service team, supporting customers throughout the UK and occasionally internationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically-biased engineer looking to join a business that offers extensive training, genuine progression opportunities, strong earning potential, and exposure to highly advanced industrial machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Installation and commissioning of industrial machinery at customer sites
- Planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support
- Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and control system fault finding
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Delivering operator and maintenance training to customers
- Diagnosing faults from first principles to minimise repeat visits
- Producing detailed service reports following site visits
- Supporting customers with technical advice and troubleshooting
- Promoting service agreements, upgrades and spare parts where appropriate
- Supporting colleagues through knowledge sharing and technical collaboration
- Delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining strong client relationships
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience servicing, maintaining or commissioning industrial machinery
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings
- Experience working on CNC machinery, automation equipment, machine tools, lasers, plasma systems, robotics, packaging machinery, printing machinery or similar capital equipment
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- Strong organisational and reporting abilities
- Comfortable working independently in the field
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to travel extensively and stay away when required
- Positive attitude and desire to learn new technologies
