Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a clean driving record, familiarity with commercial driving, and experience with flatbed deliveries. The ideal applicant will be organised, punctual, and capable of handling physically demanding tasks associated with delivery operations.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver goods to clients and customers.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption.
- Load and unload products using appropriate equipment, ensuring items are secured during transit.
- Verify delivery details and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery from recipients.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues encountered during transit.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety on the road.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with commercial driving experience.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating flatbed lorries or large vehicles.
- Experience with flatbed loading and securing cargo is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of local roads and navigation skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently.
- Good physical condition to handle loading/unloading tasks and long periods of driving.
- Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating punctuality and reliability at all times.
Pay: From £100.00 per day
