Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to provide high-quality support to residents in a care home setting. This role involves working both day and night shifts, offering vital assistance to individuals with diverse care needs. The successful candidates will play a key role in enhancing the wellbeing and independence of residents, ensuring they receive respectful and personalised care at all times. Previous experience in home care or care homes is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right applicants. Flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a caring attitude are essential for this position.
Duties
- Assisting residents with daily activities such as washing, dressing, and mobility
- Supporting residents with personal hygiene and toileting needs
- Implementing individualised care plans in accordance with organisational guidelines
- Providing companionship and emotional support to residents
- Monitoring residents’ health and reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Assisting with medication administration as per training and protocols
- Engaging residents in social activities and encouraging participation in community events
- Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all residents
- Driving or accompanying residents on outings or appointments when required
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- Valid driving licence is desirable but not mandatory; flexibility to work both day and night shifts is essential
