Step into Teaching has partnered with a fantastic primary school in Wednesbury (WS10) that is focused on helping pupils thrive academically and emotionally — especially during the important transition at Upper Key Stage 2 Level.
This welcoming school is committed to developing your skills and confidence, providing the tools, guidance and support you need to succeed. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils prepare for their SATs with confidence, strengthen key skills, and feel calm and supported in the lead-up to exams. What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting Year 6 pupils in the run-up to SATs, helping them stay focused, motivated and confident.
- Delivering targeted literacy and numeracy support (1:1 and small group interventions).
- Providing structured support to help pupils build confidence with exam technique and independent working.
- Supporting a calm, positive classroom environment that promotes wellbeing and resilience.
What You Can Expect:
- £500 - £530 per week (term time only).

- The opportunity to gain valuable upper KS2 experience that will help you decide if teaching/child mental health is the right career for you.

- September start for 26/27 academic year(Term Time Only).
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 35-hour working week.
What We’re Looking For:
- A completed bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:2).
- A passion for learning and supporting children to achieve their potential.
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- An empathetic, proactive, “can-do” mindset.
- Ideally, some experience supporting children in schools/tutoring/mentoring settings
