Summary
The US Logistics Operational Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating logistics operations between UK-based teams and US partners. This role ensures the efficient movement of goods, compliance with international shipping regulations, and seamless communication across time zones. The coordinator plays a key role in maintaining supply chain efficiency, resolving operational issues, and supporting customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily logistics operations for shipments between the UK and the United States
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses, and customs brokers
- Ensure all shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading) is accurate and compliant
- Track shipments and provide real-time updates to internal stakeholders and clients
- Manage import/export processes, ensuring compliance with US and UK regulations
- Resolve delays, discrepancies, or operational issues proactively
- Monitor logistics KPIs such as delivery times, costs, and service levels
- Maintain accurate records in logistics and ERP systems
- Support inventory coordination and stock movement planning
- Communicate effectively with US-based teams, often outside standard UK working hours when required
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong understanding of international logistics and supply chain processes.
- Knowledge of US import/export regulations and customs procedures.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills across different time zones and cultures.
- Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or freight coordination would be beneficial.
Salary and Benefits
