Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ride-On Mower Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and landscaping outdoor areas using ride-on mowers and related equipment. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and attention to detail, ensuring that all grounds are kept in pristine condition. Previous experience in groundskeeping, construction, or warehouse operations involving materials handling and heavy lifting is advantageous. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on outdoor maintenance and landscape management.
Responsibilities
- Operate ride-on mowers to trim lawns, fields, and other large outdoor areas efficiently and safely
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of mowing equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with materials handling, including loading and unloading supplies or equipment as needed
- Support with general groundskeeping tasks such as edging, trimming, and debris removal
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Collaborate with team members to complete landscaping projects within specified timeframes
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues or equipment malfunctions promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience operating ride-on mowers or similar outdoor machinery
- Mechanical knowledge related to lawn equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Experience with warehouse management systems or materials handling is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labour as required for grounds maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with forklift operation, shipping & receiving procedures, or construction work is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical fitness to handle prolonged periods of outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Valid driving licence is preferred but not essential depending on the scope of duties
