Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team in Eastern European food wholesaler warehouse. This role involves a variety of tasks essential to the smooth operation of our warehouse, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement and storage of goods, maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Previous warehouse experience is preferred, but full training will be provided to the right applicant. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in warehouse management systems and mechanical operations within a fast-paced environment. Working hours from 12 pm till 8pm (my vary).
Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stocking activities.
- Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards and identify any discrepancies or damages.
- Ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed during daily operations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Supporting team members in achieving operational targets through collaborative efforts.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment, particularly forklifts, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software is preferred.
- Experience in shipping & receiving procedures, including documentation and compliance standards.
- Skills in picking & packing orders efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and load & unload goods consistently throughout shifts.
- A proactive attitude towards quality control processes and maintaining high standards of safety and organisation within the warehouse environment. Pay: £13.50-£16.00 per hour
