The Growth Company (GC) are looking for a Business Advisor - Digital, Cyber and Technology (DCT) Specialist to join the Business Growth Hub (BGH) team and deliver high quality, specialist business growth advice to ambitious businesses across Greater Manchester.
The Business Growth Hub (BGH) supports businesses across Greater Manchester with expert advice on funding, innovation, people, sales and sustainability. We provide tailored support to meet the needs of each business at every stage of its growth journey.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of high potential businesses, supporting them to identify barriers to growth and develop practical, tailored strategies to unlock their full potential. You will work closely with senior leaders, providing insight, challenge and connections to drive measurable business outcomes including growth, job creation and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of up to 80 high growth Digital, Cyber and Technology businesses
- Handle client enquiries, assess eligibility and identify growth potential
- Deliver in depth business diagnostics and develop tailored growth action plans
- Provide expert advice to senior leaders on complex business challenges and opportunities
- Connect clients to relevant internal and external support, ensuring effective delivery
- Build and maintain a strong network across the digital and technology ecosystem
- Contribute to the delivery of Business Growth Hub programmes and initiatives
- Accurately record activity and track outputs such as growth, jobs created and performance improvements
About You
- Experienced in working with or within the Digital, Cyber or Technology sectors
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders including Directors and business owners
- Strong commercial awareness with experience supporting business growth
- Able to diagnose challenges and translate them into practical, actionable solutions
- Skilled at building relationships and generating opportunities through networks
- Comfortable managing a varied workload across multiple clients and projects
- Collaborative and proactive, with a focus on delivering impact
- Committed to continuous learning and staying current with sector trends
Skills Required
- Strong sales and account management capability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Experience delivering workshops, facilitation or business support sessions
- Strong planning, organisational and project management skills
- Confident using CRM systems, data and management information tools
- Ability to analyse business and market data to inform recommendations
- Understanding of project delivery and performance tracking
- Awareness of the wider business support and economic development landscape
