Job Title: Waking Night Support Worker
Location: Letchworth Garden City
Shift Pattern: 3 nights on, 3 nights off
Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Waking Night Support Worker to join our dedicated team home in Letchworth, Hertfordshire.
In this vital role, you’ll provide overnight support to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the young people we care for, responding to their needs if they arise and helping to maintain a calm, secure environment throughout the night.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Awake Throughout Shift: Remain awake for the entire duration of your working shift.
- Safety and Welfare: Ensure the safety and welfare of residents in the wake night shift.
- Empathy and Compassion: Offer empathy and compassion to residents who may find night times challenging.
- Record Keeping: Accurately maintain records.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with out-of-hour services if needed.
- Policy Adherence: Follow Kelwel policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
- Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team and bring energy and enthusiasm to the role.
- Safeguarding: Experience and knowledge in safeguarding children.
- Handover Tasks: Follow delegated tasks and give detailed handovers.
- Communication: Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Candidate Requirements
- Driving License: All applicants must have a valid full manual UK/EU driving licence and be over the age of 21 (in accordance with The Children’s Homes England) Regulations 2015).
- Experience: Working or engaging with young people.
